Why has your new book connected so well with readers?

I infuse my own personal story and experience with the principles in the book. I also give specific strategies on how to implement the suggestions in the book. The book itself could be used as both and primer and a blueprint for those interested in self-improvement.

Do you promote your work on social media? What platforms are you on?

Yes. I primarily use Twitter. My Twitter handle is @evervillefans. I have a Twitter following of well over 75,000 members. I am actively engaged with my tribe and those who discuss my work and similar works.

75 thousand people in your tribe! That’s amazing. Why do you think people follow you?

I use content, consistency, and engagement to drive my Twitter tribe. Recently, I've tweeted specific quotes with images, and engage relevant followers. I've used tools such as to filter relevant followers to target for specific tweets.

Apart from Twitter and social media, do you use other marketing to spread the word about your books?

Yes. I've used Bing keyword search ads as well as AMS advertising directly through Amazon. So far, Bing has been most successful and driving traffic, but Amazon's AMS effort has the best conversion and ROI. I make nearly all my sales on Amazon.

Do you have a marketing philosophy that underpins the way you present your work online?

Provide as much value as possible, then you sell people what they want, but give them what they need.

Can you give emerging writers any tips on finding success?

Be consistent. Be persistent and iterate in the face of failure. Seek advice from those already successful in your area of expertise.

As Roy mentioned, his book Think Smart Not Hard: 52 Key Principles to Success and Happiness is just 99 cents for a limited time. Check it out on Amazon.
